IKCU SFL Professional Development Unit (PDU) launched its academic-year sessions on 7 October 2026 with an insightful and engaging session entitled “Back to the Learner’s Eyes,” delivered by Lect. Dr. Pınar Tural. The session invited participants to explore language learning from the perspectives of EFL learners, with a particular focus on the Present–Practise–Produce (PPP) approach. Dr. Tural shared findings from her research on distortions and discussed their implications for transformative EFL pedagogy. Throughout the session, participants examined the challenges learners encounter in the learning process and gained a deeper understanding of the barriers that may hinder their progress. By encouraging educators to reconsider learning from the learner’s perspective, the session highlighted the importance of reflective teaching practices and learner-centred approaches in fostering meaningful language learning experiences.
