The Professional Development Unit members of IKCU SFL, Dr. Ezgi Çetin and Didem Dağkıran, attended the 7th TESOL Türkiye International ELT Conference hosted by Bodrum TED College on 15–16 May 2026. The conference brought together ELT professionals, researchers, and educators from across Türkiye and beyond under the theme “Mediation in ELT for a Connected World.”

Throughout the conference, the participants engaged in a wide range of academic sessions, workshops, and research presentations focusing on mediation practices in English Language Teaching, intercultural communication, collaborative learning, and innovative pedagogical approaches for globally connected classrooms.

As part of the conference program, Dr. Ezgi Çetin delivered a workshop entitled “Mediating Meaning Beyond Words: Soft Skills for Connection in ELT.” The interactive workshop explored the role of empathy, collaboration, and active listening in fostering mediation, interaction, and meaning-making within diverse educational contexts. Through theory-informed and task-based activities, participants examined how soft skills can enhance communication and support learner engagement in contemporary ELT environments.
