IKCU SFL lecturers Dr. Ezgi Çetin, Nazlı Çakır, Merve Güzel Akdemir, Hamdiye Avcı Önalır, Müjde Özdemir and Elif Mutlu Demircioğlu conducted an academic visit to Universidade Nova de Lisboa/Portugal between 9–13 April 2026. The visit focused on observing current practices in English language teaching and fostering academic collaboration. During the visit, advanced-level (C1–C2) English classes taught by various lecturers were observed. The lessons highlighted student-centered and communicative approaches, promoting active participation and the practical use of language skills. The experience also provided an opportunity to compare these practices with those implemented at our institution. A meeting with the university’s unit coordinator enabled a comparative discussion on teaching methodologies and the integration of technology in language education. The visit is expected to contribute to enhancing our university’s international visibility and strengthening future academic partnerships.
