Coffee Talk : Female figures in Art Nouveau by Ezgi Bayram
The female figure has always been an indispensable part of art. With the change of women's place in society, their depictions in works of art have also changed. The Art Nouveau movement offers us good examples of this change. Ezgi Bayram, a graduate student at Dokuz Eylül University, is going to talk about how the women in the posters produced in the Art Nouveau movement became more independent during her coffee talk entitled “the Female figures in Art Nouveau”.
What is Art Nouveau?
As Oxfordlearnersdictionaries suggests it is “a style of decorative art and architecture popular in Europe and the U.S. at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century, that uses complicated designs and curved patterns based on natural shapes like leaves and flowers”
Looking forward to our students’ (PIN and INT students) participation on 28th December, 2022 at 2 pm
