On March 22nd, 2023 at 13.30 Lecturer Feyza Öztürk is hosting a Trivia Wednesday challenge in ILC.  Here are the rules of the game that you can copy and paste to your students: 1.    Only INTERMEDIATE level of students can join the game. 2.    The game will be face-to-face in ILC on that day. 3.    Please form a group of 3 people. Then find a group name and register as a group. We are expecting at least 3 groups😊 4.    The winners will get theatre tickets (3 tickets for each group)😊 And you can choose whichever play you like after the game. 5.    There will be general knowledge questions, but Passive Voice is very important as the grammar topic of this week. On March 16th, 2023, ILC is hosting three of our Mechatronics students, Ali Fuat Sertkaya, Hüseyin Efe Yalabık and Barış Leventgelen to introduce their invention, The Rover Robot to our students in ILC. (on behalf on their group named The Goat of the Century.) So, what is a Rover Robot? A rover is a small, mobile robot that scientists send to the Moon and the planets to land on their surfaces and explore. Rovers can take pictures and collect information about the planet by taking temperature readings, rock, and soil samples. The talk will be in ILC and Face-to-Face. ILC presents its first online coffee talk entitled Erasmus Experience: Student and Staff Mobility by Nazlı Civelekoğlu and Ezgi Çetin for Spring 1. In this talk, while Civelekoğlu will be focusing on her Erasmus adventure as a university student, Çetin will share her Erasmus experience as a lecturer. The female figure has always been an indispensable part of art. With the change of women's place in society, their depictions in works of art have also changed. The Art Nouveau movement offers us good examples of this change. Ezgi Bayram, a graduate student at Dokuz Eylül University, is going to talk about how the women in the posters produced in the Art Nouveau movement became more independent during her coffee talk entitled “the Female figures in Art Nouveau”. What is Art Nouveau? You need to be able to get others’ full attention while giving your presentation, and to do this you should know some strategies. Come and join us to discuss these strategies together and learn how to use them effectively in this workshop.” With this intro, ILC welcomes its new speaker, Lect. Çiler Akkuşoğlu with her workshop entitled “How to Make Effective Presentations” on 4th November 2022 at 11 am. This workshop is only for Pre-intermediate students because the next task is about “how to make a presentation”

On 1st November 2022 at 3 pm, our new speaker, Mickael Melis will be sharing his experience in photography and European culture with us in ILC.  ALL of our students with All levels can register for this talk. First 15 students (2-3 from different classes) will be sent a registration email as before.  Looking forward to our students’ participation for this engaging talk. Born in Chambery South East of France close to the Alps on the border of Switzerland & Italy. Mickaël has always the dream to take pictures and travel.   He self trained with his first DSLR a Nikon D50 and posting his photos in a forum where people could give their feedback. He started with landscape photography (bridges mainly) then his friends asked him to be their wedding photographer and it is where all begin…   Registration link

We can be from different countries. We can all have different cultures and values, but if we share our culture with other people, we can bring joy and understanding to the world. So, IKCU School of Foreign Languages is kindly asking our International Students from different countries to introduce their culture to their friends and teachers.  For registration please find Lect.
