The School of Foreign Languages is holding an official debate event in
English, specifically designed for intermediate-level prep students.

Students will apply as speakers only, and participation will be limited.
Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis via
the Google Form. Students should apply as groups of three speakers. Each
group must form their team beforehand, and submit one application as a
group (not individually). Semi-final round will be held in Week 9, and
the final round will take place in Week 10.

Before the event, students will receive three general topics to prepare
ideas in advance. However, the exact debate topic will be determined on
debate day and groups will draw lots for their side (PRO / CON).

The debate will follow a structured academic format and will be
moderated by a student moderator. This event aims to support students’
academic speaking skills, critical thinking, argument development, and
persuasive communication in an authentic debate experience.
